TESTIMONIALS
G.I. Joe's goal is to provide its customers with the best selection of sporting goods and outdoor recreational gear available at competitive prices with excellent customer service. With 26 stores in the Pacific Northwest, the company has successfully operated their stores with IBM's Chain Sales POS since 1989, but senior management was looking for non-painful ways to have a “new look” at the register and the ability to add marketing messages for their customers while they were paying for merchandise.
Using Accelerator, a GUI interface for IBM POS systems, G.I. Joe's was able to dress up their systems with minimal effort. The entire pilot was done without need for 4690World personnel to be on-site. Older IBM 4683 Store Loop hardware was upgraded to the new IBM SurePOS 700, and more recent IBM 4694 units successfully run Accelerator GUI.
G.I. Joe's and 4690World together delivered a "new" system in record time.
